The highly anticipated Thalapathy 65 is finally announced and an exciting project is on cards. As already speculated, Sun Pictures will bankroll Vijay’s next film after Master and it will be directed by Nelson of Kolamaavu Kokila and Doctor fame. It is indeed a big leap for director Nelson who is getting to make his third outing with Vijay and he has gotten a big golden opportunity. The announcement was made in an unique manner through a promo video that looked great and promising. In the initial few seconds of the video, we see Vijay and Kalanithi Maran coming together out of a room and greeting director Nelson. All three of them share a lighter moment and towards the end, Maran shakes hand with Vijay, wishing him the best.

Following that, we are taken into the title look teaser which is exciting and impressively made. The teaser is filled with guns and cars, suggesting that the film will be high on action. We have seen Nelson's approach towards comedy through Kolamaavu Kokila and it is going to be interesting to see how he handles the action.

This movie will have music scored by rockstar Anirudh Ravichander who is now the most wanted music director in Tamil cinema. Thalapathy 65 will mark Anirudh’s third outing with Vijay after the massive success of Kaththi and Master (songs). Vijay fans have been eagerly waiting for this announcement for the past few months and they’d now be finally relieved. Vijay’s choice of directors in the last few years has been very impressive and fresh and it looks like the star actor wants to do something different with each film. When everyone was pleasantly surprised when Vijay chose Lokesh Kanagaraj for Thalapathy 64, he has once again surprised everyone by choosing a young filmmaker like Nelson for his 65th project.

Nelson recently rose to fame on social media after the viral reach of his ‘Vera Maari, Vera Maari’ line in Doctor’s Chellamma lyric video. More details regarding the project are awaited. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, Vijay is also geared up and waiting for the release of his film, Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of Kaithi fame. Master has got phenomenal expectations among the fans and trade experts in the industry and if reports are to be believed, the film will release for next year's Pongal festival.
