The Intern will feature two leading stars from Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles and the fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing this combo on the big screen. The Intern is the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood film with the same title. The Hindi remake will be directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma who is known for directing the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer, Badhaai Ho. Produced by Sunir Kheterpal and Deepika Padukone, the film is scheduled to release in theatres during Summer 2022. The film's adapted screenplay and dialogues are penned by Akshat Ghildial and Mitesh Shah.

Initially, the film was supposed to star Rishi Kapoor in the lead role, but unfortunately, he passed away even before the film's shoot could commence and Amitabh Bachchan has now replaced the late actor.
