Kamal Haasan questions PM Narendra Modi on encounter in Galwan Valley!
Ever since getting into active politics, Kamal Haasan has been a voice of dissent against government policies which he feels affect the public adversely! Recently, the entire nation has been abuzz with the border skirmish between India and China in the Galwan Valley region! After reports of the Indian Army being involved in a fight with Chinese armed forces at the Galwan Valley and some soldiers losing their lives in this incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a statement that there was no incursion by China into Indian territory. Later, a statement from the Prime Minister's Office claimed that his words were being mischievously twisted by some people and that it would affect the morale of the Indian soldiers.
Now, Kamal Haasan, the President of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), has issued a statement questioning the veracity of what actually happened at the Galwan Valley. Kamal's 2-page letter expresses his concern over the loss of lives of Indian soldiers and demands that there be better communication about what actually happened at the Galwan Valley between the Indian and Chinese armed forces. He has also mentioned that the Indian Army is one of the best in the world and that the lives of our soldiers should not be taken for granted. Kamal mentions that the government has either failed in diplomacy or in understanding the Chinese strategy. He has demanded transparency and accountability from the Indian government.
