Popular American television actor Mike Sorrentino and his wife Lauren Pesce welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on May 26. The couple made the announcement on Instagram on Thursday and revealed the child's name to be Romeo Reign Sorrentino, weighing in at 6 lbs., 8 oz. and measured 19 inches long, who was delivered by cesarean section. Sharing pictures of themselves with their newborn son on their respective Instagram pages, Mike added a rocket emoji to celebrate his newest family member, who is seen wrapped in a striped blanket.

Mike and Lauren got married in 2018 and shared the news of their pregnancy last November and wrote on social media, "Our biggest blessing is on its way." The Sorrentinos celebrated with a baby shower ceremony at their New Jersey home last month, telling E! News, "It was an absolute dream showering baby sitch this weekend!" They added, "We felt so much love being surrounded by our family and friends. We are so very blessed and can't wait to begin this new chapter as parents!" This is the Sorrentinos' second pregnancy after Lauren, his college sweetheart, suffered a miscarriage nearly seven weeks after she first became pregnant, Sorrentino said in November 2019.

Mike Sorrentino became a popular name among American TV audiences after featuring on the hit reality television series, Jersey Shore, while also appearing as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars and Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition, and shows like Celebrity Big Brother and The Choice. Sorrentino gained the nickname "The Situation" after a girl complimented him on his abs while she was walking with her boyfriend on a beach in New Jersey. A friend of Sorrentino present at the time at the place told that he might have caused a “situation” between the couple.
