The hottest topic in K-town in the last 24 hours happens to be Master's OTT release rumours. There were wide speculations that an OTT streaming giant has offered a huge amount for Master's direct OTT release. It was also rumoured that the makers are in consideration of the same if the situation doesn't get better in the coming days. This news created a huge buzz on social media and the fans were quite disappointed about it. However, what came as a delight was an official statement from the team of Master, clarifying that the film will very much release only in theatres. The makers of Master revealed that they are planning to release the film in the theatres and requested the support of the fans and theatre exhibitors for the same.

The theatres across Tamil Nadu reopened a few weeks back, but has not yet managed to pull the crowd inside the screens. In that way, Thalapathy Vijay's Master is considered to be one of the major trump cards to bring back the audience into the theatres. Master is a film that has been designed and shot for a theatrical viewing experience and when a mass hero's film releases on digital platforms, it may not give the intended impact. On that note, Master team clarified that they are sticking to the theatrical release plans, as of now.

"With lot of rumours surfacing in the past few days, we would like to clarify our stand on it. Though we have an offer from a reputed OTT service provider, we prefer to the theatrical release, which is the need of the hour for the industry to survive the on-going crisis. We also request theatre owners to stand with us and provide their support for reviving the Tamil film industry. We hope to reach out to you soon with the good news," the Master team said in an official statement. This created a huge buzz on social media and Vijay fans were truly delighted by the statement.

The Master team's decision excited not only the fans but also quite a few star heroes as well. Yes! Dhanush shared his excitement and support to the Master team by retweeting the statement. It is indeed great to see a star like Dhanush coming forward to extend his support to another star hero's film and the trend looks healthy in Tamil cinema.

Meanwhile, Dhanush is also keenly awaiting the release of his highly anticipated Jagame Thandhiram, directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Sashikanth of Y Not Studios. Jagame Thandhiram is also expected to release only in theatres and let us hope that these two movies help in reviving the Tamil film industry after the pandemic.
