Ajith Kumar's Thunivu will kick off the festivities in 2023 for Tamil cinema fans as the highly-anticipated film is releasing in theatres as a grand Pongal treat in January. Touted to be a mass action entertainer, the upcoming film has been directed by H. Vinoth and is produced under Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner in association with Zee Studios and also includes a diverse ensemble cast featuring the likes of Asuran actor Manju Warrier as the female lead, followed by Samuthirakani, Veera, Prem Kumar, Ajay, GM Sundar, John Kokken, Bucks, Mohana Sundaram among others in major supporting roles. With Thunivu set to become the biggest release in Ajith's career to date, promotions are currently underway and popular actor Veera of Nadunisi Naaygal and Rajathanthiram fame recently sat down for an interview with Galatta along with co-star Prem Kumar to talk about their experiences of working in the film.

Upon being queried about what fans can expect in Thunivu, Veera said, "Generally speaking, everyone knows the expectations surrounding Ajith sir's films. They have a worldwide opening and a fan base. And, beyond his fan base, the audience is getting bigger with each film. The expectations for each movie he makes keep getting bigger. Both Vinoth sir and Ajith sir made everyone think about what was to be done at the shooting location one day at a time. None of us ever thought about factors like the film's budget or the expectations surrounding it or its release plans, nor did anybody have the time to think about these factors and they didn't make us think about such things. There wouldn't be such an atmosphere on the film's sets. The focus would be on the artiste's task for that day and whether he or she has a combination scene with Ajith sir or another actor. After this, it would be a pack up and we would head back to the hotel, where we'll work out or go swimming, and then sleep, and wake up the next day for the shoot again. So, before even thinking about any of this, the entire schedule has gotten done for us."
