Ajith Kumar's Thunivu will open in cinemas for Pongal in January 2023 and massive preparations are underway to make it the biggest release in the actor's career. The upcoming venture is billed to be a mass action entertainer and marks the third collaboration for the Tamil superstar with filmmaker H. Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor, who has bankrolled the film under his Bayview Projects LLP banner in association with Zee Studios, and is being released in Tamil Nadu by Red Giant Movies, while Lyca Productions is handling the overseas distribution. With less than three weeks before the theatrical release, Lyca Productions has now announced that December 31 (Saturday) will be called Thunivu Day, while also informing fans to keep watching their space for a big update on the said date.

Lyca Productions has also released a special video for Thunivu's promotions showing skydivers parachuting above the iconic Palm Jumeirah islands in Dubai, UAE. In the video, we see a skydiver parachuting across the Dubai skyline with a banner of the film with Ajith's picture on it as the chart-topping 'Chilla Chilla' song is playing in the background. This latest promotion strategy for Ajith's Thunivu has raised speculations about the film's trailer, which is expected to be coming out on December 31.

The excitement for Ajith Kumar's Thunivu is sky-high and the latest promotions done by the film's team once again show the huge expectations surrounding it. It is to be noted that Lyca Productions is producing the actor's next big film, the tentatively titled AK 62, under Vignesh Shivan's direction, which will feature music by Anirudh Ravichander. In Thunivu, Ajith will be seen sharing the screen with Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, G. M. Sundar, Prem Kumar, John Kokken, Ciby Bhuvana Chandran, Pavni Reddy, Amir, among others, with music by Ghibran, whose songs in the film have turned out to be chart-topping hits.
