One of the most exciting films in development, the Savitri biopic being made as Mahanati in Telugu and Nadigaiyar Thilagam in Tamil is progressing steadfast in its production.
Nag Ashwin is directing Mahanati under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner and music by Mickey J Meyer with Keerthy Suresh portraying legendary actor Savitri.
Nadigaiyar Thilagam will also see Samantha Akkineni reportedly appearing as a journalist.
With that said, reports have now surfaced stating popular Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s real life husband has been cast in Mahanati in the role of his grandfather Akkineni Nageshwara Rao.
Yesteryear fans will know how popular the Savitri and Akkineni Nageshwara Rao on screen pair were namely in films like Devdas and Mayabazar.
It is now being reported Naga Chaitanya will film his portions in Mahanati later this week as Akkineni Nageshwara Rao.
As known already, Nadigaiyar Thilagam has a host of ensemble stars namely Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan portraying iconic Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan.
Mahanati also includes Arjun Reddy star Vijay Deverakonda in a vital role.
The film will also see current heartthrob Shalini Pandey as an important supporting character.
Although no confirmation has been made yet, there were reports a while back that Anushka Shetty would be portraying legendary actress Bhanumathi.
Looks like fans will have plenty to look forward in the film when it comes out this summer.
