Vijay Antony has multiple interesting projects in his pipeline and one among them is Kolai, the suspense thriller, directed by Balaji Kumar of Vidiyum Munn fame. Having made an impressive debut with the critically acclaimed Pooja starrer, Balaji is now back with his next movie which is also expected to be a promising venture. The first look of Kolai had garnered wide attention among the fans and it had a unique look to it. Produced by Kamal Bohra, G. Dhananjayan, Pradeep B, Pankaj Bohra, and S Vikram Kumar of Infiniti Film Ventures in association with Tan Sri Doraisingam Pillai, Siddhartha Shankar & RVS Ashok Kumar of Lotus Pictures, the film has Ritika Singh playing the female lead.

Ritika will be seen playing the character of Sandhya, a cop, while Vijay Antony will essay the role of a private detective. Vijay Antony holds a very good fan base and market in Telugu, as a result of which most of his movies are dubbed and released in the said language. On that note, Kolai will also have its Telugu version and the makers unveiled the title of the Telugu version with a new poster, earlier today (March 9). The Telugu version of Kolai has been titled Hatya and the title look has garnered a good level of attention with the Telugu audiences.

Talking about the film in an official statement, director Balaji Kumar revealed that Hatya is loosely inspired by the murder of Dorothy King incident in 1923 that shocked the entire world for its incredulous complexities is cracking the mystery lying beneath it. Opening up about the premise, he said, “The story is about a beautiful model named Leila, who is found murdered in her upscale apartment. One of the five men known to her, each with a motive to see Leila dead, has managed to get in on the right of her death. Detective Vinayak (Vijay Antony), who has refrained from active field works after a personal tragedy for years, is brought back to crack the mystery.”.

The film will have John Vijay, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Murli Sharma, Siddhartha Shankar, Arjun Chidambaram, Kishore Kumar, Samkit Bohra in supporting roles.
