Popular Bollywood actress Amrita Rao and her Radio Jockey husband Anmol have revealed in a new video on their YouTube channel that they tied the knot two years prior to the wedding date that the couple has maintained all these years. The duo stated that the reason for the "secret wedding" was to make sure that their marriage didn't come in between Amrita's career. Anmol states that Amrita was roped in for three big production films, while also adding that he too had begun witnessing a jump in his career after he took up an offer as a sports show host. It was at this juncture that he proposed to her, but she refused as the film offers she had gotten didn't take off. She later landed roles in films in 2012 like Jolly LLB, Satygrah, and Singh Sahab the Great, which came out in theatres the following year.

Amrita said, "I was on a high again and Anmol said let's get married. I said things are getting back on track, these films will release, I am now looking for even bigger films. If I got married, this news might just affect my career severely." She added that she felt a bit anxious about the wedding at the time as the media might write her off as irrelevant after the marriage. Anmol then suggested they get married in secret, and he said, "I thought that if we can keep our affair a secret for 4-5 years, can we not hide our marriage too." Amrita gave her nod to the idea in quick time and revealed that they didn't invite any of their cousins to the wedding as they intended to not divulge any details to the media. The couple has confirmed that they got hitched on May 15, 2014, and gave an assurance that they will be sharing pictures from the ceremony in their next video.

Having made her debut in the 2002 film, Ab Ke Baras, Amrita Rao soon became a youth sensation after starring in films like Ishq Vishk and Vivah opposite Shahid Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan's Main Hoon Na, while her last big-screen appearance was Thackeray in 2019.
