Thalapathy Vijay has returned to Chennai after completing the second schedule shoot of Thalapathy 66 and pictures and videos of him coming out of his flight at the Chennai airport have been doing good rounds on social media since last night. Vijay reached Chennai last night and he is said to have completed the talkie portions which were shot in the second schedule at Hyderabad. More details regarding the shooting plans are awaited. Thalapathy 66 is directed by Vamshi Paidipally who is known for helming ventures like Thozha (Oopiri in Telugu), and Mahesh Babu's Maharshi.

Produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations on a grand scale, the film has music composed by Thaman S whose songs are going to be one of the major highlights of the film. Thaman is scoring music for a Vijay starrer for the first time and the fans have pinned high hopes on the album. Thalapathy 66 is touted to be a family entertainer that will be high on family emotions and sentiment and it is going to be a welcoming changeover to witness Vijay in a light-hearted entertainer. With cinematography by Karthick Palani of Adipurush and Penguin fame and editing by Praveen KL, Thalapathy 66 features an ensemble star cast that includes the likes of several big names.

Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead in this drama, marking her second outing in Tamil cinema after Karthi's Sulthan. Supreme Star Sarath Kumar plays a pivotal role in the film that also has Shaam, Yogi Babu, Sangitha Krish, Srikanth, and others in supporting roles. Thalapathy 66 is slated to hit the screens for the festive occasion of Pongal in January 2023 and one can expect the film to take a humongous opening. Unlike Vijay's earlier films, Thalapathy 66 is expected to have a solid buzz in the Telugu states. After completing Thalapathy 66, Vijay will be joining hands with his Master director Lokesh Kanagaraj for his next, Thalapathy 67, which will go on floors by October 2022.
