'Bollywood Baadshah' Shah Rukh Khan took social media by storm on Friday by announcing the title of his next film, Jawan, under blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Atlee Kumar's direction. Being produced by Gauri Khan under the Red Chillies Entertainment banner, the pan-Indian film coming out in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages worldwide on June 2, 2023, is touted to be a high-octane action drama and will mark the Bollywood debut of Atlee. Featuring music by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander, who as well is making his debut in Hindi cinema, the Jawan title announcement teaser released continues to be the talk of the town on social media among Shah Rukh Khan's fans.

Jawan has been a project that has long been debated, especially after it was revealed that Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee would be collaborating together for the first time around the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). With production still underway on the upcoming film, it remained unclear up until now regarding the reason(s) for the delay in kick-starting the project as Shah Rukh Khan has since then also announced a couple of other high-profile ventures - Pathaan with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham and Dunki opposite Taapsee Pannu under Rajkumar Hirani's direction. That being said, the Bollywood superstar took to social media on Saturday evening and shared the Jawan first look that also included a Tamil poster and informed the reason for the long wait for the film.

Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, "It’s a special RC project that has seen its wait because of inevitable issues surrounding us.But a few good men worked hard & made it happen. Want to thank  @_GauravVerma  the Co-Producer,  @Atlee_dir  and their Jawans for making this dream come to life. Now… Good to go Chief…!" Jawan is a project that has generated tremendous buzz and excitement among fans ever since it was announced that SRK would be teaming up with Atlee, who has to his credit box office money-spinners Theri, Mersal, and Bigil in Tamil with 'Thalapathy' Vijay. Although no formal announcement has been made yet, it is widely being stated that leading South Indian actress Nayanthara is cast as the female lead and will incidentally mark her Bollywood debut, while Priyamani will be seen in a pivotal role. As for the technical crew of Jawan, the film's cinematography is handled by GK Vishnu, while the editing is taken care of by Ruben, followed by art direction by Muthuraj T and sound design by Kunal Rajan.
