Director Balaji Tharaneetharan’s (Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom fame) second directorial, Oru Pakka Kathai, is finally gearing up for a release after several years of wait. The film is scheduled to release on December 25 on Zee 5 streaming platform and the fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing it. Oru Pakka Kathai features Kalidas Jayaram and Megha Akash in the lead roles and this film should have been the actual debut of Megha. The makers have now released the official trailer of the film which looks quite intriguing and promising. The trailer is packed in an interesting manner that you cannot come to any conclusions regarding the story or premise.

The film seems to have an unique take on superstitious beliefs and the involvement of science. The trailer keeps us glued to the screens with the proceedings and director Balaji seems to have got a promising content in hand. The trailer tells you that Oru Pakka Kathai is not going to be an usual romantic drama and let us wait until Christmas to see what happens. This promo video has got a very good reception from the fans and let us hope that the film also receives such a feedback.

Oru Pakka Kathai is produced by KS Sreenivasan under the banner of Vasan Visual Ventures and has music scored by 96 fame Govind Vasantha. Prem Kumar, the director of 96, has cranked the camera for this film that has been edited by Anthony. PV Chandramouli, Jeeva Ravi, Lakshmi Priya and Meena Vemuri play supporting roles. Earlier, the film had faced a few problems with the Censor Board (CBFC) who wanted to mute the word, ‘intercourse’. However, director Balaji and team were not convinced since they felt that it was a key part of the story. Now that the film is having a digital release, they don’t have to worry about censorship.

The last few OTT releases in Tamil - Soorarai Pottru, Mookuthi Amman, and Andhaghaaram have turned out to be solid hits and let us see if Oru Pakka Kathai follows suit.
