EXCLUSIVE: Mari Selvaraj explains the plot differences between Pariyerum Perumal, Karnan, and Maamannan - WATCH VIDEO

Mari Selvaraj is a popular director who made a mark in the Tamil film industry with his film Pariyerum Perumal and Karnan, The next film of the filmmaker is titled Maamannan which is set to release in theatre on June 29. It has Udhayanidhi Stalin and 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu with Keerthy Suresh and Fahad Faasil in important roles. The cast with the director gave an exclusive interview with the National award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, editor in chief of Galatta Plus as the host. When asked about the philosophy of Mari Selvaraj. The director said “You cannot say about the philosophy of the director with this (two films)"

The director then explained that an artist's philosophy cannot be found that easily in every movie. Mari Selvaraj  said when he creats a character that sketches has knowledge and what that person would do it will do. He added that what the character demands which could be negotiation, violence or just silence is what matters. "I can't reveal any philosophy but I just make demands, it will differ based on the situation and character sketch." The filmmaker then said "Karnan is a people’s story, Pariyerum Perumal is an individual person’s story and Maamananna is the story of a family. Then you will see how it takes place."

'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu then said, “A family in politics and the politics in the family, that’s it”. The director then said he had revealed the one-line of Maamannan. It was previously revealed that the film will talk about politics, but the actor has revealed the one-line upon of the film. The director has also showed the difference between the three films that are directed by Mari Selvaraj including Karnan and Pariyerum Perumal. Apart from the star cast the film also has music composed by A. R. Rahman and the trailer shows it will be an intense drama film.
