VIDEO: Keerthy Suresh reveals the real reason she agreed to be a part of Mari Selvaraj's Maamannan - EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Maamannan is the next big film that had Udhayanidhi Stalin and ‘Vaigai Puyal’ Vadivelu in pivotal roles with Keerthy Suresh playing the female lead and Fahad Faasil in an antagonistic character. The crew of the film with the director Mari Selvaraj gave an exclusive interview with the national award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the editor-in-chief of Galatta Plus. They shared some interesting incidents and insights of the film. When the host asked the actress Keerthy Suresh how she accepted this role. The actress said it would be a dream to act in Mari sir's films for many actresses, "when he asked I felt I would have an important role." The actress went on say that he is one of the directors who would give importance to the female character and she knew that she would play an important character, “So, I knew there is something in it otherwise, he wouldn’t ask me."

Actress Keerthy Suresh then explained why she asked the director Arun Matheshwaran why he chose her for the role in Saani Kaayidham because it was a role she had not done before at all. “It was a different genre altogether and so my question (to the director) was how do you think I will be able to pull it off." She then revealed that the director said he wanted the actress to play the role because he hasn't played such a rugged character. “I haven't done this, a communist like character too, but when he asked I knew it was something that I can do and I had that space. Anybody would want to be in his film.” said the actress Keerthy Suresh.

Maamannan marks the comeback of the actress in Tamil after some time as her previous film Saani Kaayidham premiered directly on OTT.  She is also playing a bold and important role in the film.
