Udhayanidhi Stalin and 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu are set to co-star in the film Maamannan which has created huge excitement. It is also directed by Mari Selvaraj of Karnan and Pariyerum Perumal fame. Ahead of the release of the film on 29th June, The cast and crew of the film sat down for an exclusive interview with National Award Winning critic Baradwaj Rangan, the editor-in-chief of Galatta Plus. As the anchor asked actor 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu if doing a character role in the film makes him think he should have done more character roles in his career, he said “It creates a huge hunger”.

‘Vaigai Puyal’ Vadivelu then went on to explain that the character he plays in the film has a limit and that he should not exceed in dialogues and acting. He said he took the practice for such limits in comedy roles. He then explained that comedy is all about timing and that because he came here from doing comedy, it made it easy for him. "The character he (Mari Selvaraj) gave me fit me perfectly, It was like a band-aid around the injured leg. I liked the character because I lived that life. If a story comes that is bigger than this I will do it", said the actor. Vadivelu then revealed that he suggested a story to the director Mari Selvaraj saying they both should do this film together next. The director also agreed saying "Yes, a story is there." The actor then said he observes everything and that is what helped him to do comedy and character roles. “But I am still hungry and there is a lot to learn.” The actor then said the Cinema is everything to him.
Maamannan also has Keerthy Suresh Playing the female lead and Fahad Faasil in a negative role apart from 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu and Director Mari Selvaraj. It will also have music composed by A.R. Rahman. Watch the full interview here:
