Lakshmi Menon became a sensation instantly among Tamil cinema fans after her entry in the film industry in 2012. The talented performer went on to earn two consecutive Tamil Nadu State Film Awards for Best Actress for her strong performances in her debut film, Sundarapandian and Kumki the same year. She also landed several lucrative offers thereafter among which included the Sasikumar starrer Kutti Puli, while also playing the role of a school teacher in director Suseenthiran's action film, Pandianadu, opposite Vishal. All the ventures she had acted in the first year of her entry in cinema turned out to be box office success, which led to her popularity skyrocketing overnight. 

In the meantime, Lakshmi Menon in a recent interaction with fans on her Instagram page revealed her relationship status for the first time. A follower had posed the query whether she was single to which the actress responded saying "NOP!!", while also adding a gif of a shy girl covering her face. This latest response from the actress made many fans wonder as to who she is dating. Furthermore, to the question of her beliefs in the marriage system, she registered her reply and said, "Overrated shit." 

Among the other interesting answers, Lakshmi Menon stated that Dhanush is her favourite actor, while declaring that the film she acted which she loves the most is Jigarthanda. In regard to her weight loss journey, the actress said that dancing proved to be a big help. "Dancing helped me lose weight eventually. But dance isn't for weight loss. But some exercises are really good for shedding some weight and to stay fit and healthy," she stated. 

Lakshmi Menon, who had taken a break from films to pursue her studies, will be seen next in award-winning filmmaker Thangar Bachan's comedy film Yung Mung Sung, opposite Prabhu Deva. The actress has been quite active on her Instagram page and has been posting pictures from photo shoots. Her name had gotten embroiled in a controversy sometime back after she stated that she had no interest in participating in Bigg Boss Tamil season 4. Lakshmi is also known for her memorable performances in films like Miruthan, Naan Sigappu Manithan, Komban with Karthi including the biggle, Vedalam, as 'Thala' Ajith's sister and Rekka in 2016 opposite 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi, which was her last outing on the big screen.
