Oct 15 - TN COVID Update: 4,410 New Cases | 49 New Deaths | Total - 674,802 Cases & 10,472 Deaths

It is that time of the day when the official numbers of the COVID-19 cases are released and here we bring it for you along with a comprehensive round-up of all the details! The last 24 hours show that Tamil Nadu has had 4,410 new cases of COVID positive being reported, taking the overall total to 674,802! Of these, 1,148 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total to 186,667! Kancheepuram has recorded 112 new cases and the district has now registered a total of 24,073, while 826 of them are currently active! Chengalpattu has recorded 40,416 total cases of which 1,949 are currently active and Thiruvallur has recorded a total of 35,545 cases with 1,500 of them being currently active. Coimbatore alone has recorded 395 new cases in the last 24 hours, while Salem registered 263 new cases and Chengalpattu recorded 255 new cases!
There have been 49 new COVID related deaths in Tamil Nadu in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 10,472. As of now, Chennai is the district with the most number of COVID cases recorded so far, in the state and has 186,667 cases registered. The total number of active cases in entire Tamil Nadu, stands at 41,872 while the number of active cases in Chennai alone stands at 13,304! There have been 5,055 new recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered people to 622,458. There have been 90,752 new samples tested, in the past 24 hours alone, taking the total tests to 8,674,793 tests, which is still the highest for any state in our country! 89,067 people have been tested in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of people tested so far, to 8,429,741!
