Karthi's Sardar which released in theatres for the festive occasion of Diwali, last week, opened to positive reviews from the critics and general audience and its performance has picked up really well at the box office. The film which released in theatres alongside Sivakarthikeyan's Prince managed to strike a chord with the masses, especially the family audiences, and it has now helped the film gain more screens. Yes! The film enters the second week from today and there has been a fairly impressive raise in the number of screens. The official confirmation about the same was made by Red Giant Movies, who released the film across Tamil Nadu.

Sardar which released in 380 screens across Tamil Nadu has now entered the second week with a massive screen count of more than 500 screens. There has been a great raise of 120 + screens and this indeed tells us the success of the film. Karthi has delivered a hat-trick in style. His first release of this year was Viruman which released in August after which he was seen in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan that released in September. Following the box office success of both movies, Karthi has churned out a hat-trick with Sardar. Karthi is one of those few actors that have a fantastic success ratio and he would be looking forward to continuing the same in his upcoming films as well.

Very recently, it was officially announced that the sequel for Sardar is on cards and it is going to be interesting to see what director PS Mithran and his team has in store for the fans, this time. Karthi is meanwhile gearing up to begin shooting for his next film which will be directed by Raju Murugan and produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. More details regarding the project are awaited.
