Sardar is an upcoming Tamil spy action thriller film written and directed by P. S. Mithran of 'Irumbu Thirai' fame. Produced by S. Lakshman Kumar under the banner of Prince Pictures, the film stars Karthi in a dual role with Raashii Khanna, Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Panday, Laila, Murali Sharma and Munishkanth in prominent roles. The music for the film has been composed by National Award winning music composer G. V. Prakash Kumar.
Speaking of the music, the makers of the film have a special surprise for the fans. They recently dropped the entire jukebox of the film for us to listen to before the film's release. It contains all the songs like 'Yaerumayileri' (which has been sung by Karthi himself), 'Mere Jaan', 'Soraka Poove', and 'Inky Pinky Ponky'. This has the fans going gaga and even more excited for the film to hit the screens as they are not able to contain their excitement.
The film is all set for a grand Diwali release 2 days from now on October 21. The film will go head-on against another big Diwali release - Sivakarthikeyan starrer Prince. It will be interesting to experience the two films lock horns, duke it out and see which one of them comes out strong at the box office. All will be decided by the reviews that they get on the day of its release.
On the technical side of things, the film's cinematography has been handled by George C. Williams, and its editing was taken up by Ruben. Sardar will also mark Bollywood actor Chunky Panday's debut in the Tamil film industry and Laila's comeback to cinema after sixteen long years
