The big day is upon us - 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's highly-anticipated Vikram directed by blockbuster filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj opened in theatres worldwide today, June 3. The action-thriller also starring 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi and Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil, with Suriya as well making a cameo appearance and featuring music by ‘Rockstar’ Anirudh Ravichander is the talk of the town. With Vikram taking a sensational opening in cinemas everywhere, Lokesh Kanagaraj on late Thursday night took to social media to express his gratitude to Kamal Haasan for the experiences during filming, while also informing fans to revisit his second directorial, Kaithi

Lokesh Kanagaraj wrote, "This is the most emotional I've ever felt before the release of my film. As I can remember, ever since I was a kid, I loved Ulaganayagan the most. This is a surreal experience for me, that I am directing a film in his honor. I thank all the kind souls who made this possible. It has been 18 months since I started working on Vikram." He added, "As a team, we have shed blood and sweat (quite literally) for this film in order to entertain you, our audiences, and to celebrate One Man, the pride of our Nation, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. It is a great honor to have the opportunity to direct you, sir. This film is a gift to you from a fan boy! I will cherish these moments forever! And to my lovely audience, Vikram is going to be all yours in a few hours. We hope you enjoy it and have an amazing theatre experience!" Concluding his words, Lokesh surprised fans by saying, "And please do revisit 'Kaithi' before getting into the world of 'Vikram' ".

Those final words in Lokesh Kanagaraj's statement took everyone by surprise, with many rushing to watch Kaithi on OTT before heading to the cinemas to see Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, and Suriya in action in Vikram. That being said, producer S. R. Prabhu, who bankrolled the Karthi-starrer Kaithi in 2019 under his Dream Warrior Pictures banner, had shared the Master director's tweet hours before Vikram’s release and wrote, "#Kaithi2 #Aarambikkalaangala!!😂🫣 #Vikram". This latest announcement from producer S. R. Prabhu has left fans reeling with excitement with the hopes of witnessing the characters from both Kaithi and Vikram next on the big screen. When this will happen and whether this will become a reality is a matter of time and remains to be seen in the future. Check out S.R. Prabhu's tweet below:
