The upcoming mega project is RKFI's 51st production venture and will be a joint collaboration with Sony Pictures Films India, with the team also sharing an announcement post and a photo of Kamal Haasan, Sivakarthikeyan and Rajkumar Periasamy. Below is Kamal Haasan's announcement:

Raaj Kamal Films International's 51st production venture is incidentally also Sivakarthikeyan's 21st film as an actor and the announcement of the project being produced by Kamal Haasan and Mahendran in association with Sony Pictures Films India has come as a massive delight for fans. There was a talk of Kamal Haasan and Sivakarthikeyan joining hands together for a film sometime back on social media and this latest development is nothing short of a bombshell announcement. The untitled film also marks SPFI's foraying into Tamil cinema and the powerhouse studio has announced their arrival in grand style.

Kamal Haasan and RKFI will be looking to hit the bullseye with their new film after Vikram, which is racing towards the end of production. The new film, also being called SK 21, is Sivakarthikeyan's next after he recently announced the tentatively titled Tamil-Telugu bilingual SK 20 under Jathi Ratnalu fame Anudeep KV's direction. Apart from SK 20 and SK 21, the actor-producer has a stellar film lineup ahead that includes the youth college entertainer Don and the sci-fi family entertainer Ayalaan. Likewise, director Rajkumar Periasamy, who made heads turn in 2017 in his directorial debut, Rangoon, starring Gautham Karthik, will be looking to deliver yet another ripper with the new film.
