The upcoming music video is Aishwaryaa's first project since her 2017 documentary titled Cinema Veeran, which is based on the lives of stuntmen in Tamil cinema. She earlier made her directorial debut in 2012 with the romantic psychological thriller 3, which starred Dhanush and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles, with the film also serving as a launchpad for composer Anirudh Ravichander. Aishwaryaa's second film as a filmmaker was the black comedy heist film, Vai Raja Vai, in 2015, featuring Gautham Karthik and Priya Anand in main roles.

Last week, Dhanush announced the news of separation from Aishwaryaa on his social media handles. He wrote, "18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better." He added, "Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this." Aishwaryaa too shared the statement on Instagram and wrote, "No caption needed. Only your understanding and love necessary." Dhanush and Aishwaryaa tied the knot in 2004 and are parents to two sons - Lingaa and Yatra.

Dhanush is currently filming his upcoming bilingual film, which is titled Vaathi in Tamil and Sir in Telugu, and is being directed by Venky Atluri under Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya's Sithara Entertainments banner in association with Fortune Four Cinemas. He is also attached to an untitled trilingual under blockbuster Telugu filmmaker Sekhar Kammula's direction, which is being produced by Narayan Das K Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao's Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP banner. The two-time National Award-winning actor will then be seen in the highly-anticipated Hollywood film, The Gray Man, under Avengers films fame Anthony and Joe Russo's direction. The action thriller also stars Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas among others, and will be distributed and streamed by Netflix. In Tamil, Dhanush's Maaran directed by Karthick Naren and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films will be released directly on Disney+ Hotstar. Likewise, a major chunk of his Thiruchitrambalam's shooting under Mithran Jawahar's direction and produced by Sun Pictures has been completed, while he is also starring in Naane Varuven being directed by Selvaraghavan.
