Leading Tamil actor Dhanush's next film, Maaran, directed by Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru and Mafia fame Karthick Naren under the prestigious Sathya Jyothi Films banner and featuring music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, will have its first single video song titled 'Polladha Ulagam' released on January 26 on the occasion of Republic Day. The song  in Maaran has been sung by Dhanush and includes rap by Arivu, with the lyrics penned by Vivek and is set to be an energetic dance number. Sathya Jyothi Films dropped the big announcement on Monday and tweeted, "Get ready for the first single video song #PolladhaUlagam from #Maaran releasing on 26th January via @LahariMusic  🔥🕺 Singer @dhanushkraja, Rap by @TherukuralArivu, Lyrics @Lyricist_Vivek.  A @gvprakash  Musical." Maaran is also incidentally the fifth time GV Prakash has composed music for a Dhanush film after delivering chart-busters in Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Mayakkam Enna, and Asuran. The latest announcement of the 'Polladha Ulagam' track from the upcoming film has fans mighty excited as the hit music director has assured that the songs in the album will be enjoyable in line with his previous collaborations with the acclaimed actor. Announced for a direct release on the Disney+ Hotstar streaming platform, Maaran is currently one of the most-awaited Dhanush films in recent times and has the actor playing the role of an investigative journalist, with Master heroine cast as the female lead. 

Billed to be a new-gen action thriller, an intriguing motion poster and an action-packed first look for Maaran have so far been released, which have received stellar feedback from fans. Coming out in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages, the buzz for the film has been high ever since it was announced as it has Dhanush collaborating with director Karthick Naren, who made heads turn with his D16. Maaran's supporting cast also includes Samuthirakani, Mookuthi Amman actress Smruthi Venkat, Soorarai Pottru fame Krishnakumar, and Master Mahendran in pivotal roles.
