Director Shankar is celebrating his birthday today (August 17) and marking the special occasion, a new picture of him from the sets of his upcoming mega biggie, RC 15 has been released. The picture was shared by the production house, Sri Venkateswara Creations. This highly anticipated project will be the esteemed company's 50th production venture. RC 15 features Ram Charan in the lead role and this will be his next release after the humongous success of Rajamouli's RRR. Ram Charan also shared his heartfelt wishes to director Shankar through a tweet that had turned viral among the fans.

Sharing a picture of Shankar, RC tweeted, "Happy Birthday @shankarshanmugh Sir..❤️ It’s a great learning experience working with you… looking forward to #RC15 and the reflection of your magic in it 🙏". Replying to the tweet, Shankar heaped praise on Ram Charan's dedication as an actor. Shankar replied, "Thanks Ram! You’re an absolute darling to work with. Hardworking, Dedicated and Disciplined! See you soon on the sets! 🤗 ❤️". RC 15 features Kiara Advani as the female lead while Jayaram, Anjali, Sunil, and Naveen Chandra form the supporting cast. RC 15 is being shot on a grand scale and the film is expected to hit the screens next year.

This is a Tamil - Telugu bilingual and has music composed by S Thaman who recently bagged a National Film Award for his outstanding work in Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Meanwhile, Shankar is also gearing up to resume the shoot of his long delayed Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2. After a long hiatus, the issues have been resolved and the film is expected to resume production towards the end of this month.

Indian 2 features Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles, while Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha and others play important roles. The film will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions in association with Red Giant Movies.
