Leading Tamil actor Dhanush sent his wishes to S. J. Suryah ahead of the release of his Bommai hitting theatres on June 16. Retweeting the Bommai sneak peek, the two-time National Award-winning extended his support to the filmmaker-actor on Monday and wrote, "Good luck sir. I’m sure you would have rocked it. (sic)". These latest wishes from Dhanush to S. J. Suryah have come at a time when there's a big buzz surrounding the two stars sharing screen space in the upcoming D50, which is being produced by Kalanithi Maran under the prestigious Sun Pictures banner.

D50 is Dhanush's landmark 50th film and is the actor's second time collaborating with Sun Pictures after Thiruchitrambalam, which went on to become a huge blockbuster success in 2022. Not much is known about the upcoming Sun Pictures venture, which is speculated to be an intense social drama, and announcements regarding the director, the cast, and the crew are awaited soon. It is to be noted that S. J. Suryah was previously cast in a key role in Dhanush's second directorial after Pa. Paandi, which was a multi-starrer set in the pre-Independence era and featured the likes of Sarathkumar, Telugu superstar Akkineni Nagarjuna, Srikanth, and Aditi Rao Hydari, but later got dropped.

Dhanush's D50 is expected to roll into production once he completes filming the highly-anticipated Captain Miller under Arun Matheswaran's direction. The Vaathi actor also his Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi trilingual film with acclaimed filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, which had a grand pooja ceremony held in November 2022, with a word on filming awaited next. Dhanush also announced a new film with acclaimed director Mari Selvaraj recently, which will be a reunion for the duo after their 2021 blockbuster, Karnan. S. J. Suryah, on the other hand, will be looking forward to hitting the bullseye with Bommai starting this Friday as it is his first big outing as a hero after Vadhandhi: The Fable of Velonie, which garnered him immense praise for his powerful performance in the Amazon Prime Video web series last year. The actor also has in his lineup highly-promising ventures that include Vishal's Mark Antony, followed by Jigarthanda DoubleX alongside Raghava Lawrence under Karthik Subbaraj's direction and the Telugu-Tamil bilingual Game Changer starring Ram Charan being directed by Shankar.
