Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan is one of the most expected films of this year and the film has got huge expectations among the fans. The first single from the film, titled 'Ponni Nadhi' was released recently and it has opened to a good reception from the fans and music lovers. The rest of the songs are expected to be released towards the end of August or early September. The film has music composed by A.R.Rahman and the legend's work is surely going to be one of the main assets. That being said, Rahman shared a brand new update on Ponniyin Selvan and it has come as an exciting piece of news for the fans.

The Dolby Atmos music mixing of Ponniyin Selvan is currently taking place in Los Angeles and Rahman shared a picture from the sound mixing studio, taking the fans by delight. Sharing the picture on his official Instagram page, A.R.Rahman wrote, "@gregtownley1220 working on #dolbyatmos music mixing for PS 1 at #losangles #panchathanhollywoodstudios". Ponniyin Selvan features Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan play the main leads, while the supporting cast includes the likes of R Sarath Kumar, R Parthiban, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Jayaram, Lal, Aadukalam Kishore, Rahman, Mohan Raman, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Chidambaram, and others.

Chiyaan Vikram will be seen playing Aditya Karikalan while Ravi and Karthi would be essaying Ponniyin Selvan and Vanthiya Thevan respectively. Trisha would be playing Kunthavai while Aishwarya Rai will be seen as the antagonist, Nandhini. Ponniyin Selvan has been made as a two part film and the first part will be hitting the screens on September 30 on a wide range of screens. The film will have a pan Indian release in 5 languages - Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, the film has cinematography handled by Ravi Varman and editing by Sreekar Prasad.
