Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan: I has a lot of hype going around it. It has been the topic of many conversations for a while now and for good reasons. This large scale film has got the antennas of all movie buffs on high alert. Ever since the makers of the film dropped its various character posters, teaser and one sneak peak of Chiyaan Vikram dubbing for his role of Aditya Karikalan, fans have been going wild. It has also left them wanting more. Well, more has now come.

Today (July 25), world-renowned music composer A. R. Rahman, who is composing the music for the film, shared a piece of amazing news that has left fans in a trance, the news being the first single from the film is coming soon. He took to his official Twitter handle and shared an image of him composing the piece with a link of the making video attached to it. He wrote, "First Single Coming Soon! #PS1 releasing in theatres on 30th September in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada! #PonniyinSelvan @madrastalkies_ @LycaProductions #ManiRatnam @arrahman @tipsofficial ". The short but awe-inspiring 42 seconds clip features Rahman in the studio recording his team at work. We also see him directing them with the certain kind of beats that he wishes to hear, which they do tremendously with a lot of passion. During the recording, we also get a glimpse of Rahman jiving to the tunes of his composition.

Ponniyin Selvan: I is an upcoming period film that is the first of two cinematic parts based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel of the same name. The film was originally intended to be a stand-alone film but it was later split into two parts. The film stars an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R. Parthiban. Ponniyin Selvan The first part, PS-I is scheduled to have a worldwide theatrical release on 30 September 2022.
