Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan: I is getting ready for release and fans can hardly wait. The film has been highly anticipated for a while now and given the scale of its content, it is definitely going to be huge. The post-production work for this is going on in full swing. As part of this, the motion poster and character introduction posters were released recently. This was followed by Ponniyin's Selvan teaser launch in Chennai.
Meanwhile, the first single of the film titled 'Ponni Nadhi' has been announced to be released on 31st July. The makers of the film have released a video in which Jayam Ravi is seen announcing this exciting news. Earlier today, Madras Talkies shared the announcement of the first single through a new poster featuring Karthi riding on a horse. This can therefore be a song that is well expected to focus on the character of Vanthiya Thevan, essayed by Karthi. A.R. Rahman was the mind and voice behind composing as well as singing the song that had been penned by Ilango Krishnan.

With not a lot of details revealed about the film, every little piece of information that comes out about it is enough to make everyone curious. Fans are eagerly waiting for the release of the film and those who have read the original novel are also curious to see how the book will turn out on the big screen made by the trusted hands of Mani Ratnam.
Ponniyin Selvan: I an upcoming Indian epic period film directed by Mani Ratnam. Produced by Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran under the banners of Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions respectively, it is the first of two parts based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel of the same name.
The pan-Indian film stars an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman, and R. Parthiban. The music is composed by A. R. Rahman, with cinematography handled by Ravi Varman, editing done by A. Sreekar Prasad and production design by Thota Tharani.
Ponniyin Selvan was originally intended to be a stand-alone film but it was later split into two parts. The first part, PS-I is scheduled to have a worldwide theatrical release on 30 September 2022.
