Ajith Kumar's Thunivu is set to open in cinemas for Pongal in January 2023 and preparations are already underway to make it a massive release. Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP in association with the Zee Studios banner, the upcoming film will be released across Tamil Nadu by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies, while Lyca Productions have acquired the overseas rights. Thunivu is composer Ghibran's landmark 50th venture and the first single track from the film titled 'Chilla Chilla' sung by Anirudh Ravichander and penned by Vaisagh was released officially on Friday, December 9.

Vaisagh, who has garnered a fan following after the huge success of his indie song 'Kaaka Kadhai', has written the lyrics for two songs in Thunivu and one among them is 'Chilla Chilla'. After the announcement of the song's release earlier this week, a 10-second audio clipping of the track was leaked on social media, leaving many disappointed. Addressing the Thunivu song leak in an exclusive interview with Galatta, Vaisagh said, "Actually, 'Ranjithame' in Varisu too got leaked in a similar fashion three months before its official release. It must have been recorded during the shooting." He added, "When it comes to 'Chilla Chilla', it was difficult at first to accept what had happened, but my friends consoled me and explained how the power got cut during Ilaiyaraaja sir's first recording. I was feeling quite low at the time and they tried to motivate me."

Speaking about the impact of technology and how it is unavoidable in this day and age to stop such leaks from happening, Vaisagh said that he uninstalled all the social networking apps that he was using on his phone the day the 10-second audio clipping of 'Chilla Chilla' had made its way online.
