Ajith Kumar's Thunivu is the talk of the town and is all set to take a huge opening in cinemas when it releases for Pongal in January 2023. The upcoming mass action thriller has been directed by H. Vinoth and features music by Ghibran, who has boarded the superstar's film for the first time and is incidentally his milestone 50th venture in his career. With post-production works currently underway, the highly-anticipated Thunivu first single 'Chilla Chilla' sung by Anirudh Ravichander to the lyrics penned by Vaisagh was released on Friday, December 9, and has since been receiving a stellar response from fans.

Vaisagh, who wrote the lyrics for 'Chilla Chilla', already garnered a huge fan following after the sensational success of his independent song 'Kaaka Kadhai' released earlier this year. The success of the indie hit track paved the way for him to land the gig to pen the first single, with the multi-talented musical artist now recalling his meeting with superstar Ajith during the shooting of Thunivu. Vaisagh revealed that he met Ajith on the 'Chilla Chilla' song shooting sets and said, "I got the chance to interact with sir for around 20 minutes and he inquired about my family, my background, and how many years I have been into songwriting. He also said that he also likes another song I have written in the film, which he informed me was his favorite and could relate with."

Thunivu has been confirmed by overseas distributors to open in the US on January 11 and a day later in the UK and Europe, with fans now awaiting word from the film's producer Boney Kapoor regarding the release plans in India. The film also starring Asuran actress Manju Warrier is the third consecutive collaboration for Ajith with H. Vinoth, Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP, and the Zee Studios banners after their Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai.
