It has been 11 years since leading Tamil actor Ajith Kumar's Mankatha released on August 31, 2011, and is still considered to be a cult classic to this date. The mass action crime entertainer directed by Venkat Prabhu under Dhayanidhi Alagiri and Vivek Rathnavel's Cloud Nine Movies banner and featuring chart-buster music by Yuvan Shankar Raja went on to become a massive box office success and continues to be a landmark film for many of the artistes and technicians who were a part of the film. That being said, on the occasion of 11 years since its theatrical release, director Venkat Prabhu on Wednesday unveiled a few unseen photos from the Mankatha shooting spot that includes Ajith and 'Action King' Arjun from behind the scenes. Mankatha is Ajith's 50th venture and had the superstar play an anti-hero role in the landmark film, who conducts a heist with a group of youngsters and eventually scams them, with Arjun revealed to be his confidante.

Sharing the new pictures on Twitter, Venkat Prabhu extended his gratitude to fans for their trust and support and tweeted, "Thanks for the trust na!! #11YearsOfCultMANKATHA more unseen pics from #mankatha!! #ak #thala thank you for the love tweeps!!" Since the film's release, there have often been whispers of a sequel, which the filmmaker too has expressed an interest in making, and remains to be seen if it will ever see the light of the day. Apart from Ajtih and Arjun in Mankatha, the film also starred Trisha as the female lead along with an ensemble supporting cast featuring the likes of Anjali, Andrea Jeremiah,  Premji Amaren, Vaibhav Reddy, Ashwin Kakumanu, Mahat Raghavendra, Jaya Prakash, Aravind Akash, Raai Laxmi among others, while the technical team included cinematography by Sakthi Saravanan, editing by Praveen K. L. and N. B. Srikanth, respectively. Check out Venkat Prabhu’s tweet below:
