A partnership that has left many fans excited right from the get go, Vishal and Arya were both confirmed recently to be joining hands for the second time after their Avan Ivan in 2011 under Bala's direction. The upcoming untitled Vishal-Arya film will be directed by Arima Nambi, Iru Mugan and NOTA fame Anand Shankar and is being produced by S Vinodkumar's Mini Studios Productions banner. The yet-to-be-titled project is the production's ninth venture and its forth Tamil film in a row.

Ace cinematographer RD Rajasekar has been roped in for the highly exciting upcoming venture, which is Vishal's 30th film and Arya's 32nd. The shooting of the film is set to start today at the Ramoji Ram Film City in Hyderabad after a formal pooja, with the team revealing that further information about the other technical artists will be released soon. Below is the official announcement:

Both Vishal and Arya will be reuniting on the big screen after nine years, with the latter this time revealed to be playing the antagonist. Being close friends in real life, their partnership will come as a major strength for the film. Although not much is known about the plot of the upcoming Anand Shankar-Vishal-Arya project, it is being stated that the film will include plenty of intense action. Double hero subjects have also been well-received by fans and considering both Arya and Vishal have a strong fan following in Tamil Nadu, we can expect the film to take a solid opening when it comes out in theatres.

Vishal recently completed filming on his much-awaited cyber action thriller film, Chakra, under debutant MS Anandan's direction. He is also working on Thupparivaalan 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2017 smash hit, Thupparivaalan. The film will incidentally be Vishal's directorial debut after filmmaker Mysskin left the project due to creative differences and financial issues.

Arya, on the other hand, is at present waiting for the release of the live-animation action film, Teddy, in which fans will see him once again opposite his wife Sayyeshaa. The two had appeared previously in Ghajinikanth and last year's Kaappaan. Arya is also currently a part of director Pa. Ranjith's Salpetta, which has him playing the role of a boxer based out of North Madras. There have been a number of photos and videos of the actor putting his best efforts at the gym to get the right look for his character.
