Leading actress Pooja Hegde is currently one of the hottest and most sought-after stars in the film industry, especially after she swept fans off their feet last year in Telugu superstar Allu Arjun's blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Pooja, who was first introduced to cinema in 2012 with Mugamoodi by director Mysskin, has since become a sensation and will be making a massive comeback to the Tamil film industry in the upcoming Vijay starrer, Thalapathy 65, being directed by Nelson Dilipkumar of Kolamaavu Kokila fame under the prestigious Sun Pictures banner. Having tested positive for COVID-19 a few days back, Pooja has now issued a statement on her social media pages on her recovery, while also expressing her gratitude to her everyone.

Taking to Twitter, Pooja wrote, "Thank you for all the love ya’ll have sent my way. I have recovered well, kicked stupid corona’s butt and finally tested NEGATIVE! yeyy! All your wishes and healing energy seemed to have done it’s magic. Forever grateful Stay safe out there." Pooja will now be looking to bounce back to work in the days ahead once the shooting for Vijay's Thalapathy 65 resumes. The team had returned home sometime back after completing the first schedule in Georgia and are currently on a break owing to the second COVID-19 wave, while waiting for the situation to get better in order to commence production once again.

Apart from Vijay's Thalapathy 65 featuring music by Anirudh Ravichander, Pooja has also landed a number of other notable mammoth projects and will next be seen in Prabhas' highly-anticipated period romantic pan-Indian film, Radhe Shyam. She also awaits the release of her next big Telugu film, Most Eligible Bachelor, opposite Akhil Akkineni which was announced a while back to come out in theatres in June this year. She is also a part of 'Mega Star' Chiranjeevi's highly-anticipated Acharya, which includes the veteran superstar's son Ram Charan. Pooja, who earlier made her Hindi debut in 2016 opposite Hrithik Roshan in Mohenjo Daro, had also been announced to be a part of the Rohit Shetty multi-starrer comedy, Cirkus, which will see her alongside stars like Ranveer Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez.
