A film that is keenly being awaited by fans everywhere is Ajith Kumar's upcoming mass action entertainer, Valimai, being directed by H. Vinoth under Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner, with production gearing to come to a close on February 15. Touted to be an out-and-out visual action feast, Boney Kapoor had at the time of the announcement of the project in 2019 revealed that Valimai will also include plenty of commercial elements that will cater to family audiences, with composer Yuvan Shankar Raja roped in to score the music.

Earlier this week, Yuvan had dropped a bombshell announcement on his newly-launched U1records website about the opening track in Valimai saying it will be "an ecstatic mass song". Described to be a mass folk number, with lyrics penned by the multi-talented Vignesh Shivan, fans have been waiting for an opportunity to get to listen to Ajith's Valimai intro song, with a video from Yuvan's studio now making its way on social media. The video features Yuvan and Vignesh Shivan along with festival drummers from Odisha working on the Valimai intro song, which based on what we get to hear is high on energy and will surely be a celebration track when the film comes out in theatres this year. The Valimai intro song making video bears a striking resemblance to what we got to witness when we saw 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander deliver the thumping chart-buster 'Marana Mass' song in 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's blockbuster Petta

Valimai is the second consecutive film for Ajith, director H. Vinoth, Boney Kapoor and Yuvan Shankar Raja after their 2019 box office blockbuster Nerkonda Paarvai. Post the staggering critical acclaim and commercial success of the courtroom drama film, all eyes are now on Valimai, which has Ajith playing the role of a police officer and will be the first time after Yennai Arindhaal in 2015 that the superstar will be seen donning the khakhi. Boney Kapoor had also recently revealed that there are plans for one important stunt sequence planned to be shot abroad after which post-production works will begin, including the team zeroing in on a release date.

Fans expect H. Vinoth to deliver Valimai on the lines of his previous acclaimed films - Sathuranga Vettai and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru - both ventures turning out to be edge-of-the-seat entertainers. Apart from Ajith, the action film will see Kaala fame Huma Qureshi playing the female lead, with leading Telugu actor Karthikeya speculated to have been cast as the antagonist, followed by Yogi Babu, Saranya Ravichandran among others forming the supporting cast.
