Iconic Tamil actress Radikaa Sarathkumar on Thursday stunned fans when she took to her social media pages to drop the announcement that she is leaving the primetime Sun TV soap opera Chithi 2. The popular mega-serial, which began airing from January last year, is a reboot of the 1999 series, Chithi, that also had the legendary actress in the lead role and continues to be one of the most memorable Tamil TV shows to be ever telecast. In a statement on her Twitter page, Radikaa informed fans and followers that she is signing off from Chithi 2, while thanking everyone for their support throughout her stint on the show.

Sharing pictures from the wrap up of a Chithi 2 episode, Radikaa wrote, "Mixed mood of happiness and a tinge of sadness as I sign off from #Chithi 2 &megaseials for now. Given the best of my years  and hard work in @suntv Sad to say bye to all the technicians and costars. The show must go on good luck to Cavin, venba and Yazhini." She added, "Love to all my fans and well wishers thanks for the unconditional love and loyalty. Keep watching #Chithi2 @radaantv My best is yet to come". Raadikaa played the character Saradha Shanmugapriyan on Chithi 2 since its inception early last year and appeared in all 200+ episodes to date in the hit TV show, which has been telecast for two seasons now.

As of now, Raadika's Radaan Mediaworks will continue to be a part of Chithi 2 in association with Sun Entertainment, with a replacement for the veteran actress' character yet to be made known. Raadika has been the face of Chithi and Chithi 2 and fans will no doubt be missing her in action on the telly. A few days back, Raadika had begun participating in the political rallies of husband Sarath Kumar, with the actress then revealing that she would be entering full-time politics soon.
