It is that time of the day when the official numbers of the COVID-19 cases are released and here we bring it for you along with a comprehensive round-up of all the details! The last 24 hours show that Tamil Nadu has had 471 new cases of COVID positive being reported, taking the overall total to 841,797! After over months together of continuously recording a high number of new cases each day since May, Tamil Nadu finally begun recording less than 600 cases in recent days. The good news is that the numbers are continuing to reduce steadily and Chennai's daily new cases tally has been steadily recording below 200 in these recent days! 151 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total to 232,316! Kancheepuram has recorded 10 new cases and the district has now registered a total of 29,325 and 107 of them are currently active! Chengalpattu has recorded 51,795 total cases of which 276 are currently active and Thiruvallur has recorded a total of 43,718 cases with 212 of them being currently active. Coimbatore alone has recorded 48 new cases in the last 24 hours, while Thanjavur has recorded 29 cases and Chengalpattu has recorded 25 new cases!
There have been 01 new COVID related deaths in Tamil Nadu in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 12,383. As of now, Chennai is the district with the most number of COVID cases recorded so far, in the state and has 232,316 cases registered. The total number of active cases in entire Tamil Nadu, stands at 4,389 while the number of active cases in Chennai alone stands at 1,559! There have been 489 new recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered people to 825,025. There have been 53,530 new samples tested, in the past 24 hours alone, taking the total tests to 16,388,243 tests, which is still the highest for any state in our country! 53,364 people have been tested in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of people tested so far, to 16,075,672!
