For the past few days, Silambarasan TR was busy shooting for his next political drama, Maanaadu, directed by Venkat Prabhu. The new schedule of Maanaadu, which began in the second week of November, took place at Pondicherry with a limited crew following the Covid 19 norms. We had seen several pictures from the shooting spot for the past one month and it kept the fans happy. Following that, it has now been officially revealed that the Pondicherry schedule is wrapped up and the team has returned to Chennai. The shooting was wrapped up yesterday (December 9) and some of the major important sequences were canned in this schedule. Details regarding further schedules are awaited.

Venkat Prabhu shared the update on his social media page. This new development has made the fans super excited and happy. Maanaadu has got huge expectations among the fans and it is touted to showcase Simbu in a completely different dimension. We had seen his look in the film through the recently released first look poster which garnered good attention during its release. The first look received a positive response from the fans. STR will be seen playing the role of Abdul Khaaliq in this political film that will have SJ Surya as the antagonist. It is going to be a visual treat for the fans to witness Simbu and SJ Surya on opposite poles.

Produced by Suresh Kamatchi, the film also stars Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren Manoj Bharathiraja, Daniel Annie Pope and others in supporting roles. The film has cinematography by Richard M Nathan and editing by Praveen KL. Yuvan Shankar Raja who has a super hit track record with both Simbu and Venkat Prabhu, scores music for Maanaadu and the fans are eagerly looking forward to hearing the songs. Lyricist Madhan Karky has written one of the songs in the album.

After completing the entire shooting of Eeswaran in a month's time, Simbu has now completed his schedule of Maanaadu. With back to updates and constant releases of photos and videos, the fans of STR are having a happy time. It is expected that he will resume the shooting of the Mufti remake, up next. This remake, co-starring Gautham Karthik, is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green and directed by Krishna of Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame.
