National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh on Tuesday featured in a COVID-19 awareness video on behalf of the latest initiative taken by the Tamil Nadu government. In the video, we see Keerthy addressing viewers and requesting them to follow the steps as instructed by the government and health officials to stay safe from getting infected by the novel coronavirus. She says, "Don't go outside unless necessary and if the need arises to venture out, it is important that everyone wear a mask for their own and others' safety. Please make sure you wear a double mask in places that are crowded. Always maintain social distancing and keep your hands clean at all times. I recently got my first dose of vaccination and I request you to do the same if you haven't yet been vaccinated. This is all the Tamil Nadu government and our health department have requested us to do. Doing this will keep us and those around safe as it is our responsibility. Let us all unite to fight and defeat corona to protect each other. Let us create a Tamil Nadu without COVID-19. Let us protect ourselves and our nation. Take care. Stay safe."

Keerthy Suresh's latest effort in association with the Tamil Nadu government comes at a time when the state is under lockdown owing to the rising number of coronavirus cases. The lockdown in the state, which began on May 9, was announced to be in effect till May 24, but had been extended till May 31 in view of the COVID-19 cases. Keerthy Suresh is the next celebrity to step forward after Sivakakrthikeyan, Jayam Ravi and Sathyaraj and take part in the Tamil Nadu government's initiative to raise awareness about coronavirus. As mentioned by Keerthy in the video, the actress had last week gotten her first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and had posted pictures on social media with the caption, "#TakeTheJab". Many notable Tamil film celebrities have gotten vaccinated among whom include Nayanthara, Ashok Selvan, Harish Kalyan, Gautham Karthik, Jiiva, to name a notable few. 

On the work front, Keerthy Suresh, who was last seen in the Telugu romantic drama, Rang De, opposite Nithiin, garnered fairly positive reviews, with the film turning out to be a box office success. As for her upcoming projects, Keerthy will be seen in an important role in 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's highly-anticipated, Annaatthe. She also has in the pipeline the Tamil film, Saani Kaayidham, alongside director Selvaraghavan, who is making his acting debut. In Telugu, the actress awaits the release of the sports comedy drama, Good Luck Sakhi, and is at present also a part of Mahesh Babu's Sarkaru Vaari Paata. Likewise, Keerthy is also waiting for the release of Mohanlal's epic historical war film, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, while she was also announced to be a part of Vaashi in Malayalam.
