The teaser of Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu’s sequel - Irandam Kuththu released recently and it has already created enough noise on social media. While the film’s target audience enjoyed the teaser, it did receive a backlash from a certain section of audience. Veteran director Bharathiraja condemned director Santhosh P Jayakumar and the team for the visuals in the teaser and also the poster. His statement created a huge buzz on social media and what came as a surprise was Santhosh’s reply. The Hara Hara Mahadevaki director took to his Twitter page to post a picture from Bharathiraja’s Tik Tik Tik and take a dig on his films.

However, that did not go well with a lot of people and Santhosh received a mixed response from various quarters. Following that, Santhosh has now officially issued a statement apologizing for his tweet against Bharathiraja and his films. Santhosh also promised that the upcoming posters of the film would cater to all sections of the audience.

Santhosh’s official statement read, “I have directed and acted in Irandam Kuththu. Director Bharathiraja had issued a statement condemning the film's posters and teaser. On the spur of the moment, I got carried away and posted a tweet on my page. Later, I realised and felt that I should not have posted a tweet like that. I express my disappointment for posting that tweet. A lot of budding and young filmmakers in Tamil cinema are trying to create at least 1% of the impact that were created by Bharathiraja's films. Bharathiraja is the guiding force and an inspiration for several directors here. He will continue to be, as well. I shouldn't have replied in such a way to his statement. Going forward, I assure and promise everyone that the upcoming posters from Irandam Kuththu will cater to all sections of the audience,”.

Irandam Kuththu features Santhosh P Jayakumar in the lead role and this is his debut film as an actor. Also starring in the film are Bigg Boss fame Daniel Annie Pope, Motta Rajendran, Ravi Mariya, Chaams, Meenal, Akriti Singh, Karishma, Shalu Shamu and others. The film is given a clean ‘A’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and we can expect the movie to release in theatres when situation returns to normalcy. Produced by Hari Bhaskaran under the banner of Flying Horse Pictures, this adult comedy entertainer has music scored by SN Prasad (songs) and Dharan Kumar (background score). The film has cinematography by Ballu and editing by Prasanna GK. Rockfort Entertainment has acquired the theatrical distribution rights of the film.
