The mega news is here! The highly anticipated and the much-awaited announcement about director Shankar's next movie has been made. Ace director Shankar will be teaming up with Telugu star Ram Charan for a new film and the announcement regarding the project has been made. The announcement has already created a huge buzz on social media and the fans are highly excited about this fresh collaboration. This magnum opus will be bankrolled by renowned Telugu producer Dil Raju under his banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations and this Shankar - Ram Charan film marks the company's 50th production. This will be Ram Charan's 15th film and it is tentatively addressed as #RC15.

This exciting new venture will be a pan Indian film that will be shot in Telugu and Tamil, and released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Director Shankar took to his official Twitter page to share this news with his fans and followers. Shankar's tweet read, "Excited to announce our new venture with @AlwaysRamCharan and Dil Raju @SVC_official". It can be noted that producer Dil Raju was the one who was initially supposed to produce Indian 2, but later walked out due to several reasons. Dil Raju and Shankar will now be collaborating in this new film. Ram Charan's next release will be RRR, the Rajamouli directorial which is currently in the post-production stages.

There is a high amount of expectation surrounding the film and the fans are waiting for the d-day. Ram Charan will be seen as one of the leads, alongside Jr NTR in RRR and it is Rajamouli's next directorial after the mega-blockbuster, Baahubali. The film is based on the real life stories of India's freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Ram Charan will play Sitarama Raju's character while Komaram Bheem will be essayed by Jr NTR.

Director Shankar is currently working on Indian 2 that stars Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. The film's star cast also includes the likes of Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Vivekh, Bobby Simha, Nedumudi Venu, and others. Produced by Subaskaran's Lyca Productions, the film has music scored by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by R Rathnavelu. The film is currently on hold due to Kamal Haasan's political commitments. We are yet to know if Shankar will start RC 15 only after completing Indian 2 or before that.
