Acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap underwent angioplasty last week after experiencing discomfort and is currently recuperating at home. The hit director decided to undergo the medical procedure after he suffered a mild chest pain earlier last week, following which he was admitted to a hospital in Andheri right away. Anurag, who has not been active on Instagram since March, has been advised to rest for a couple of weeks before taking up any work. The filmmaker, whose last major work was AK vs AK alongside Anil Kapoor, sometime back wrapped up production for his upcoming film Dobaara, with Taapsee Pannu.

Dobaara is Anurag and Taapsee's third collaboration after the 2018 hit, Manmarziyaan and biographical drama Saand Ki Aankh, which had the filmmaker serving as a producer. The film is being produced by Cult Movies - a division under Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, along with Sunir Kheterpal's ATHENA and Gaurav Bose's The Vermillion World Production. The film's shoot saw an unexpected interruption earlier this year when IT raids were carried out at Anurag and Taapsee's properties. The raids were carried out at entities across 30 locations in Mumbai and Pune connecting Taapsee and Anurag, including his associates in his production house Phantom Films as well as film producer Vikas Bahl. The duo later took to social media to share behind-the-scenes stills from Dobaara's sets, while informing fans that they had resumed the shoot. Anurag wrote, "And we restart #DoBaaraa... with all our love to all the haters..."

Anurag Kashyap has carved a niche for himself in Indian cinema over the years as a powerful talent with his films among which include Black Friday, Dev.D, Gangs of Wasseypur movies, Ugly, Raman Raghav 2.0, including the anthology Lust Stories and segments of the hit web series, Sacred Games. The acclaimed director had also proved his mettle as an actor and made his acting debut in Tamil as the antagonist in the Nayanthara, Atharvaa and Raashi Khanna starrer, Imaikkaa Nodigal
