The fourth season of Bigg Boss Tamil is well nearing the end of its second month and has been fetching phenomenal ratings for Vijay TV, including yet again seeing a record viewership on the Hotstar OTT platform. Being hosted by 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan, fans of the hit Tamil reality TV show have so far observed the antics and the drama in the Bigg Boss 4 house, with four contestants as well getting evicted. Actress Rekha, singer Velmurugan, actor Suresh Chakravarthy and the second wildcard entry, singer Suchitra have been eliminated from the show, which currently has Ramya Pandian, Rio Raj, Shivani Narayanan, Samyuktha Karthik, Gabriella, Aajeedh, Balaji Murugadoss, Som Shekhar, Aranthangi Nisha, Anitha Sampath, Sanam Shetty, Jithan Ramesh, Aari and the first wildcard entry VJ Archana Chandhoke as the remaining contestants.

In the latest episode of Bigg Boss Tamil 4, the contestants were in for a surprise when an unexpected announcement was made. On the evening of the Day 53 episode (Thursday - November 27), Bigg Boss informed the housemates that they will be evacuated as a precautionary measure and only for one night due to the cyclone Nivar. Bigg Boss further goes on to assure them that their family members are all safe and that there was no need for any of them to worry. There had been reports over the past couple of days stating the contestants had been moved out after the water that entered the Bigg Boss 4 house, with a picture showing them wearing PPE kits as per the COVID-19 norms and protocols. The contestants later came back to the Bigg Boss 4 house the next day.

Bigg Boss on Day 54 asks housemates to choose the best and the worst performers among them. After a discussion, Balaji, Ramya and Jithan Ramesh are selected as the best performers and hence get chosen as contenders for captaincy, while Aari and Rio are selected as the worst performers based on the majority of votes and get locked inside the glasshouse. Below is a video of the contestants being informed about the contingency plans in view of the cyclone Nivar:
