As the world continues to battle in its fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic, there have been news of how several celebrities have taken a step forward into their lives - be it getting engaged, entering wedlock or becoming parents - we have witnessed a number of such happy stories come to light over the past year. In that light, another happy news is now upon us as popular Bollywood actress Amrita Rao has turned pregnant and is expecting her first child soon.

Coming from a Konkani-speaking family, Amrita Rao married Anmol, a Radio Jockey on 15 May, 2016 in Mumbai after seven years of dating. The couple who have always maintained a low profile had a picture of them recently snapped, which has now gone viral on social media. In the pic, we see Amrita with a baby bump, alongside her husband, and based on the picture we can expect the child to arrive in a couple of months' time. Check out the picture below:

Amrita Rao, who made her debut in 2002 in the film Ab Ke Baras, soon went on to star in several notable ventures thereafter. After roles in The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Ishq Vishk and Masti, the actress' true calling came in the 2004 blockbuster, Main Hoon Naa. The masala action film, which incidentally was remade in Tamil as Aegan with 'Thala' Ajith and Nayanthara, had Shah Rukh Khan playing the lead, with Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty and Zayed Khan in major supporting roles.

Post her Main Hoon Naa, Amrita's popularity shot up after starring opposite Shahid Kapoor in the 2006 film, Vivah. She was then seen in Heyy Babyy in a special appearance, followed by the Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani legal comedy, Jolly LLB, which ended up being a box office money-spinner. After the 2013 multi-starrer Satyagraha, Amrita took a break from acting, but returned to act in Thackeray, a biopic based on Marathi politician Balasaheb Thackeray, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role. Although not seen much in South Indian cinema, she has acted in one Telugu film - the 2007 Mahesh Babu starrer, Athidhi. Among the compliments she has received, Amrita was pronounced by legendary Painter M. F. Husain as his second muse, 11 years after he painted superstar actress Madhuri Dixit. He went on to make several paintings in dedication of her role in Vivah
