Karthi's Sulthan is running successfully in the theatres and it has become Karthi's best ever opening film. Sulthan, despite receiving mixed reviews from the critics, has not stopped the family audiences from coming into the theatres and it is the next Tamil film to have witnessed houseful crowds after Thalapathy Vijay's Master. The theatre exhibitors have expressed their happiness about the film's performance and the momentum is expected to continue for the next few days. Sulthan is directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan and produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures. Vivek - Mervin composed the songs, while ace composer Yuvan Shankar Raja took care of the film's background score.

It waas Yuvan's background score that elevated the mass moments of the film to a different level. Master fame Sathyan Sooryan handled Sulthan's cinematography, while the editing was done by Ruben. The film featured an ensemble cast that included the likes of Rashmika Mandanna, Lal, Napoleon, Ponvannan, Yogi Babu, Garuda Ram, Nawab Shah, and many others. The film also had a lot of actors playing the role of rowdies who were a part of Napoleon / Lal's gang. The rowdies gang played an integral part in the movie.

Another interesting character that garnered the attention of the audience in Sulthan is Gada, the strongly built tall man who played the role of Karthi's assistant. Gada's character was something on the lines of Bheem Boy from Kamal Haasan's Michael Madana Kaama Rajan and his character was widely loved by the audience. The man who played Gada is 7.2 ft. tall and he is a WWE player. Yes! Surprised, right?. Originally known as Giant Zanjeer, the tall man entered into the sport of WWE (World Wresting Entertainment) very recently and has earned a good fan base with his initial set of games.
