Well, 2020 is a very curious year indeed! Little would anybody have dreamt of the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic spreading across the world and claiming so many lives as well as changing the very way we go about our day-to-day lives! After a lot of uncertainty, the IPL got underway in the UAE and last year's finalists CSK and MI clashed in the first game of the tournament with CSK emerging victorious! Everything seemed to be slowly getting back to normal in the world! However, having seen more than 9 months of the year gone by, we should have known that this was too good to be true! CSK are still sitting on the bottom half of the table, for the first time in what seems like ages! Today, which marked MS Dhoni's 200th appearance in the IPL, was expected to be a day which would turn around CSK's flagging fortunes! MSD won the toss and decided to bat first. Josh Hazlewood and Piyush Chawla came in for DJ Bravo and Karn Sharma. RR brought in Ankit Rajpoot for Unadkat!

Archer bowled a super tight 1st over for just 2 runs before coming back to remove Faf du Plessis, in the 3rd over. Watson hit a couple of fours off Kartik Tyagi, before the youngster removed him for 8, leaving CSK on 26/2 after the 4th over. Stokes was welcomed to the bowling with a 15-run over by Curran and Rayudu. After struggling at the crease to free his arms, a shackled Curran tried to cut loose and holed out to Buttler off Gopal's bowling. In walked MSD with nearly 12 overs left. However, Rayudu got out the very next over to a poor shot, bringing Jadeja to the crease. By the end of the 10th over, runs were being dried up and CSK had just managed 56/4! The legspinners Tewatia and Gopal bowled really well and kept the scoring rate very low. Tyagi's 14th over went for 14 runs and just as some momentum was being injected into the CSK attack, Dhoni got run-out for 28 off 28 balls, in the 18th over. Jadeja was joined by Jadhav and the two managed to take CSK to 125/5. This was the lowest score for any team batting first, this IPL season.

With only 126 to get, Uthappa and Stokes came out to open the innings. A couple of misfields and overthrows got RR to a good start. Despite giving away a couple of boundaries, Chahar got Stokes to drag on with a swinging delivery. Hazlewood removed Uthappa off the 2nd ball of the very next over, to a smart catch by Dhoni! RR had moved to 28/2 in the 4th over. Chahar returned the next over to take out Samson for a duck, again to a very athletic one-handed catch by Dhoni jumping to his left! Chahar bowled out a wicket maiden to give CSK fans a lot of hope as Buttled strolled out to join Smith. The CSK fast bowlers kept things very tidy and had restricted RR to 59/3 at the end of the 3rd over. With Smith struggling to time the ball, Buttler took the initiative and smashed the 12th over bowled by Thakur for 13 runs and got the momentum going. The 15th over bowled by Chawla was taken apart by Buttler, who hit it for 16 runs and raised his half-century! When Chawla came on to bowl the 17th over, it was again taken for 12 runs, leaving RR just 2 more runs to get from 3 overs! Buttler and Smith took a single each to take RR to an easy win by 7 wickets, with 15 balls to spare! It was not a very happy 200th match for MSD as CSK are all but out of the tournament! Buttler was given the Player of the Match award for his gutsy knock!
