Aamir Khan suffers rib injury at Laal Singh Chaddha shoot, resumes filming with painkillers
A film that created sky-high expectations right from the moment of its announcement, Laal Singh Chaddha is Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's next and is an official remake of the iconic Hollywood film, Forrest Gump. Being directed by Secret Superstar director Advait Chandan, the actor will be seen playing the role of a Sikh in a turbaned look throughout the narrative. Known among fans as Mr Perfectionist, Aamir is not one who shies away from walking the extra mile for his roles and taking up challenges. Likewise, during the shooting of an action sequence for Laal Singh Chaddha, the Dangal star suffered a rib injury, but continued to shoot with painkillers and didn't let the production come to a halt.
According to a report by India Today, the Thugs of Hindostan star "while shooting for some action sequences, suffered a rib injury. However, this did not stall the shoot of the film. The actor just took stock of his condition and in no time resumed shooting by popping some pain killers." Scheduled to hit the screens for the festive occasion of Christmas in December 2021, Laal Singh Chaddha is one of the biggest and most-anticipated films in recent times and is a joint collaboration between Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom 18 Pictures banners.
Apart from Aamir Khan, Laal Singh Chaddha will also include as part of its cast names like Kareena Kapoor Khan playing the female lead and 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi joining in for a major supporting role, which incidentally will mark his Bollywood debut. Vijay Sethupathi will not be the only notable Tamil name in the film as popular comedian Yogi Babu too will be seen in a key role. Initially, the plan was to get the film released in theatres this year, but had to be postponed in the week of the coronavirus pandemic.
Based on a screenplay by Eric Roth and being adapted by Bollywood actor Atul Kulkarni with Pritam in charge of the film's music, cinematography handled by Setu and editing by Manik Dawar, fans expect Aamir Khan to deliver a memorable performance on the lines of Hollywood superstar Tom Hanks' portrayal of the character from Forrest Gump, which fetched him his second Academy Award for Best Actor in 1995. Kareena Kapoor recently completed filming her portions in the film and posted a picture of herself with Aamir, thanking the entire team for the support during the shoot.
