Actress Pooja Hegde has become a hot property in South cinema, especially in the Telugu film industry, after the stupendous box office success of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo earlier this year. The action-drama family entertainer cemented her place in the south, especially after her dance moves alongside Allu Arjun in the smash hit 'Butta Bomma' song went on to receive a thunderous response.

Already a popular name in Telugu cinema, Pooja Hegde is at present attached to the upcoming Akhil Akkineni rom-com, Most Eligible Bachelor, including the multi-lingual period romantic drama biggie, Radhe Shyam, opposite Prabhas. Having said that, Pooja has now been confirmed to have been in cast in yet another colossal film - Cirkus - opposite Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh and under blockbuster director Rohit Shetty, known for his Singham films. The upcoming Hindi film, said to be Rohit Shetty's take on William Shakespeare's play The Comedy of Errors, will see the 'Butta Bomma' sensation share screen space also alongside actress Jacqueline Fernandez, with Varun Sharma, Siddhartha Jadhav, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Vrajesh Hirjee, Vijay Patkar, Sulbha Arya, Mukesh Tiwari, Anil Charanjeett, Ashwini Kalsekar and Murli Sharma also cast in major supporting roles.

Being produced by Rohit Shetty under his Rohit Shetty Picturez banner, Cirkus slated for a winter 2021 release will be presented by Bhushan Kumar and Reliance Entertainment, with production expected to begin in November in locations across Mumbai, Goa and Ooty. Cirkus will be Pooja Hegde's third big Bollywood film after Mohenjo Daro in 2016 opposite Hrithik Roshan and last year's multi-starrer, Housefull 4

Cirkus will incidentally also be Ranveer Singh's third collaboration with Rohit Shetty, who introduced him into the cop universe with the 2018 movie, Simmba. His character will be making an extended guest appearance alongside Akshay Kumar in Sooryavanshi also directed by Rohit Shetty. Postponed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sooryavanshi also includes Ajay Devgn in his Singham character, with its theatrical release now being planned for sometime between January and March.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh wrapped up filming on two of his upcoming films - the sports drama '83 in which he portrays Kapil Dev and Jayeshbhai Jordaar. '83 too was initially scheduled to come out earlier this year in April, but was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. His Jayeshbhai Jordaar is expected to be released in theatres later this year.
