The Chandramukhi 2 trailer starts off with a voice-over introducing Raghava Lawrence as Vettaiyan Raja and an all-too-familiar king cobra snake that guarded the Vettaiyapuram mansion in Chandramukhi (2005), which starred 'Superstar' Rajinikanth, Jyotika, Prabhu, and Nayanthara in the lead roles. The visuals of the upcoming film then transition to Vadivelu reprising his role as Murugesan, who is the caretaker of the mansion, with a lot of action interspersed along with the mystery. The Chandramukhi 2 trailer also focuses on the supporting cast and the secrets in the Vettaiyapuram mansion, with Vadivelu shown explaining the incidents that had taken place many years ago. We also witness Raghava Lawrence transform as Vettaiyan Raja, formerly essayed by Rajinikanth, with Kangana Ranaut rechristened as Chandramukhi after Jyotika previously played the role.
Chandramukhi 2 carries several big elements from the first film and the visuals show that it is going to be a theatrical entertainer for the families. The film also features music composed by Academy Award winner M. M. Keeravani, who won an Oscar Award for Best Original Song for 'Naatu Naatu' in S. S. Rajamouli's global hit, RRR, earlier this year. Director P. Vasu, Raghava Lawrence, and Kangana Ranaut will also be hoping to recreate the massive box office magic of Chandramukhi and the wait is now on for the sequel to open in theatres in two weeks' time.
