Chandramukhi 2 director p vasu reveals superstar rajinikanth improvisation in chandramukhi raghava lawrence - Tamil Movie Cinema News

Veteran Tamil filmmaker P. Vasu's Chandramukhi 2 produced under the prestigious Lyca Productions banner is gearing up for a grand release in theatres worldwide on September 15. Actor-filmmaker Raghava Lawrence and four-time National Award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut are starring in the sequel to Chandramukhi (2005), which featured 'Superstar' Rajinikanth, Jyotika, Nayanthara and Prabhu in the leading roles. With Chandramukhi 2 nearing its release in the days ahead, P. Vasu recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Galatta to talk about the upcoming comedy horror film, while also revealing a big secret about how Rajinikanth improvised a crucial scene in Chandramukhi featured on his Vettaiyan Raja character and the subtle change that made it powerful and iconic.

P. Vasu explained, "The scene was initially conceptualized as Vettaiyan Raja (Rajinikanth) beheading Gunasekaran (Vineeth) and burning Chandramukhi (Jyotika) alive. But, he did something during the shooting, which I didn't expect when he kicked the head all of sudden much to the surprise of everyone and I got scared seeing that. I asked him why did he kick the head when all he had to do was just turn back and look at the camera menacingly. I felt that if he kicked the head it would appear too cruel.  I asked him, 'If you do that, how will the ladies in the theatre respond?' He calmly replied saying, 'The people are going to love this character. You just wait and watch. You need not worry about anything. And, just like he said, the response in the theatres was phenomenal. He truly has the knack for making the right judgment on some of these aspects."
